The latest in the craze of American food supplies being contaminated.  Mini Chip Ahoy Cookies from Nabisco, a Kraft Food product.  A toddler in Texas
opened a bag of these cookies for a snack and was surprised to find a rat leg, covered in a thin layer of dough and cooked, sealed inside the bag of
treats. This is alarming, even more alarming is that this is just one in a long list of food source contamination harming, even killing Americans.  Since
January, 2006 a rash of food recalls on a variety of food products have taken place.  The numbers are startling, the variety of food sources involved
shocking, the fact that the majority are of the same type of contamination eye-opening, the lack of answers or actions by our Government alarming.
Is this just an act of nature or something more?

Growth hormones are used in cows to
increase milk output by up to 25%. Also
used in Poultry, beef cattle and other
meat sources to add weight rapidly.

Diethylsilbestrol (DES)
   Illegal but detected in 1999 American
beef. Cancer causing, anti-miscarriage
drug.

Estro-synchronization products
   Designed to make animals give birth at
same time.
Salmonellosis
   Bacterial infection. In most
cases only causes diarreah, fever
and abdominal cramps, in other
cases infection might spread from
intestines to blood stream, then
other body sources eventually
leading to death of the patient.
Antibiotics have been used to
treat this condition.

   Salmonella live in intestines of
humans and other animals.
Usually it is transmitted through
humans eating foods
contaminated with animal feces.
Food may also become
contaminated by touching foods
with unwashed/unsanitary hands
of food handlers.  


E-Coli
   E-coli is a bacteria germ which
causes severe cramps and
diarrhea.  E.Coli is the leading
cause of bloody diarrhea.  
   E-Coli infections come from:
Eating Uncooked ground beef
Drinking contaminated impure
water
Drinking unpasturized raw milk
Working with Cattle.
   The only way to get this
infection is through eating
contaminated foods, from person
to person through poor bathroom
hygiene habits, or through
touching something an infected
person already has touched.  
E-Coli is highly contageous as are
those who are infected with it.

Listeriosis
   Listeriosis is a serious infection
caused by eating food
contaminated with bacterium
Listeria monocytogenes.  A better
known name of this disease is
Mono.  Symptoms include
nausea, diarrhea, headache, stiff
neck, confusion, loss of balance,
and convulsions leading to
eventual death.   Infections
during pregnancy can lead to
miscarriage, stillbirth, premature
delivery or infections in newborns.

In the United States 2,500 people
are diagnosed per year with 500
of these resulting in death.
   
   Liseria monocytogenes are
found in soil and water.  
Vegetables can become
contaminated from soil or manure
used as fertilizer.  

Straphylococcus Aureus
   Causes superficial skin lesions
such as boils, styes and
furunculosis, as well as
pneumonia, mastitis, meningitis,
urinary tract infections, deep
seated infections such as
osteomyelitis and endocarditis, as
well as food poisoning and toxic
shock symptom.
   
   
Contamination Types
Americans have become more and more dependant on supermarkets,
fast food chains and restaurants to provide their nutrients their bodies
demand.  Long gone are most of the backyard gardens, small farms and
self-sufficient lifestyles as we become more and more dependant on our
government to provide for us. This dependence does not come without a
price, and in some cases that price is very high, especially when it relates
to what we eat.

The human body can not exist without food and water.  We simply demand
it to survive.  When our food or water sources are contaminated or altered,
we are greatly affected, and in some cases lives are endangered.  During
the past year numerous food recalls have taken place.  In such cases as
with the spinach contamination, many people across the nation became
sick, and in some cases died unnecessarily.

If this is not concerning enough. Our own government now is stating their
desire to introduce genetically altered food into our diets which include
everything from fruits and vegetables to the meat from animals we
consume.   What they failed to tell us is that they have been providing this
genetically modified foods in our supermarkets for the best part of a
decade.

Soybean lecithin and maize syrups in cookies is one of the oldest genetic
foods that cross our lips.  Today gene-modified (GM) ingredients appear in
2/3rds of all U.S. processed foods.  While our regulations mandate
labeling of sodium, fats and carbohydrates they failed to include this little
fact as they fed us false securities.

Between 1997-1999 1/4th of all American agricultural land or 70-80 million
acres were quickly converted to raise GM crops.  Amazingly in Great Britian,
France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Denmark,
Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Austria, Portugal and all European
nations, as well as Latin America, Near East and Asia moratoriums,
partically banned, restricted or label regulations with stiff penalties for non-
compliance exist in these GM foods. The reports found regarding the
effects of these GM foods to humans are shocking.  Here is a list of the
things our government has long known but failed to inform the general
public consuming these foods about.

  • Recorded deaths from GM foods in 1989 show that a dozen
    Americans died and several thousands were afflicted and impaired
    by genetically altered versions of the food supplement L-tryptophan.
  • In 1996 Brazil nut genes were spliced into soybeans by a company
    called Pioneer Hi-Bred resulting in several near death's due to
    allergic reactions to the nuts.
  • Direct cancer and degenerative diseases from genetically
    produced growth hormones injected into dairy cows were
    recorded.  An increase of IGF-1, a potent chemical hormone, is
    liked to a 400% to 500% increased risk of human breast, prostrate
    and colon cancer.  rBGH ingestion has been shown to increase
    spleen mass by 46%, which signals a sign of developing
    leukemia.  
  • Increase in superviruses have been noted.  Increase in necessary
    antibotics to treat such diseases was noted as well.
  • Also reported was the formation of new and unknown viral strains,
    lowering of immunity through diets of processed and altered foods,
    and an resurgence of infectious diseases along humans.
  • Human food allergies and other allergies increased during the
    duration of time between the introduction of GM foods to the
    supermarket shelves and to date.
  • Birth defects, shorter life spans in GM animals were recorded,
    affects upon humans is unknown to date.
  • Lower vital nutrients especially phytoesterogen compounds  which
    protect the body from heart disease and cancer.

Why has this information been hidden from the American citizens? Why
were we not told this food was placed upon our shelves and consumed by
us for a decade?  Why were we not made aware of the threats to our health
these foods presented?  What more are they not telling us? Until these
answers and much more testing on these GM foods are done, American
citizens should not accept being force fed these potentially deadly
substances in our food supply.

WARNINGS
VIDEO REVEALS BIG PROBLEMS AT MEAT PLANTS.
The video is almost to graphic and saddening to show. On
February 18, 2008 more then 140 lbs of frozen ground beef
produced by a California plant was recalled.  The dramatic video
footage was far from humane as it showed downer cows being
absolutely tortured.
    What are downer cows?
    Downer cows are those that can not walk to the slaughter
    plant under their own power.  This is often caused by
    neurological problems which are considered to be high risk
    for mad cow disease.  When these animals are unable to
    move, workers end up having to push, drag or otherwise
    force them to the plant. It is illegal practice to use downer
    cows in food supply, and inhumane to allow such cows to
    continue to suffer.

DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR MILK CAME FROM? YOU HAVE

Many dairies use what is known as Recombinate bovine growth
hormone or rBGH/rBST.  This is injected into cattle to force them
to produce more milk.  This practice has been known to harm
cows and may pose harm to humans.  It has been banned in
Canada, Japan, Australia, and all 25 countries of the European
Union, but is still allowed in the United States.

BGH has been known to cause udder infections in cattle, which is
treated with antibiotics, which increases antibiotic resistant
bacteria, which is linked strongly to human infections, and human
antibiotic resistant infections. As if this isn't enough to cause
banning, the BGH injections in cattle produce another hormone
known as IGF-1.  To much IGF-1 in humans has been linked to
increased colon, breast and prostrate cancer.
